Jardín Botánico del Descubrimiento de America
Vallehermoso, La Gomera
Vallehermoso Botanical Garden, through its display of valuable native plant and flower species that were an important feature in the American-European exchange, aims to reflect the vital role played by La Gomera and the Canary Islands in the route to the Americas, by addressing educational, cultural, touristic, and scientific aspects of the islands.
The project includes a layout in straight lines superimposed by landscaped routes. The sloping walkways zigzag through the natural surroundings, discovering the creation of landscaped areas, which respect the existing natural heritage through the preservation of hundred-year-old palm trees.
